Late 19th century German Hanau silver mounted cigarette box, of rectangular form, the sides and cover repousse decorated with genre scenes, the cover edge engraved 'The Officers 3rd Batt East Yorkshire Regt from Colonel Brooke', opening to reveal a soft wood lined interior and gilding to underside of cover, the whole upon four feet modelled as Caryatids, with Hanau marks for Neresheimer, F import mark, and hallmarked Samuel Boyce (or Boaz) Landeck, Sheffield 1897, H10cm including feet W23cm D13cmCondition Report:General wear commensurate with age and use, including surface scratches, nicks and small indentations and knocks.Cover with split to side and front.Hallmarks with some wear, particularly Hanau marks, but generally clear and legible.Soft wood interior with some water marks, and missing dividers.
